United Blood Services is a non-profit organization, which provides blood transfusions to more than 500 hospitals in 18 states. The whole purpose for this is to help people in need of blood. “United Blood Services exists to make a difference in people’s lives by bringing together the best people, inspiring individuals to donate blood, producing a safe and ample blood supply, advancing cutting-edge research and embracing continuous quality improvement.” Opal Davis and Kitty Baldwin in Phoenix, Arizona founded it in 1943. And to this date United Blood Services is one of the nation’s oldest and largest blood service providers. It was also the one of the founding members of the American Association of Blood Ranks (AABB). Over 15 million people in the United States depend on United Blood Services, well their bighearted volunteer’s who take the time to donate their own blood for the wellbeing of others. United Blood Services uses many discourse communities to communicate to the people in the area. They do a great job gathering volunteers and donors. There also involved in researching new ways to advance transfusion quality and BioCare. United Blood Services also has on wheels facilities that travel to local high schools, universities, public festivities, etc. Coordinators are people like me and you, who are willing to put in time to coordinate blood drives, make sure that your donation goes smoothly as possible and make sure that you feel great when you leave. United Blood Services usually gives the donors special prizes and coupons. These are some ways that United Blood Services communicate to the community.
United Blood Services uses many techniques to communicate to discourse communities in the area. They use Billboards, Flyers, Commercials, Website, Brochures, Social networks and Call centers. Through the area of El Paso there’s one or more billboards with the message “Be a Hero” by United Blood Services. These messages are used to create a feeling in peoples heart by them considering donating blood. They also have their website with many locations to choose from to donate, get info, and if you want to learn from the organization. The organization put up flyers through public buildings, schools, universities, etc. They also have workers, volunteers, and coordinators calling usual donators and setting appointments to donate.  The association is also involved in broadcasting commercials thru local listings to promote blood drives, ideas that the association have, and show inspiring stories from the donors themselves. This association does a great job advertizing their need of help from people in the community.
I am a common donor for this organization and it pleases me after I leave the facility. Why? , Well because I know that someone out there is in need of the blood and I maybe the one individual who saves his/her life. This feeling makes me feel like I’m contributing to the community and I’m making a difference not only in someone life but in the community.  My previous visit to the clinic the nurse told me that the blood that I had donated had save 3 lives. When someone tells you that you’ve actually saved a life it makes you feel satisfied and very happy. I was very proud of myself that I took time of my life to help others in need instead of doing something selfish and erroneous. I believe that this organization has helped me and others realize that helping those in need creates a satisfying sensation in your heart.
